			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We talked last week about Twitter and it’s been in the news a lot this week. </p>
<p>Firstly, the was the Stephen-Fry-stuck-in-a-lift escapade, where thousands of people followed the Tweetings of Mr Fry as he and some fellow visitors to Centre Point spent an hour stuck in a lift. Aleksander Orlov, the cute frontman (front-animal?) for the recent Compare the Market campaign, was swift to respond, with updates to the Compare-the-Meerkat website,  blog, twitter page, twitpic, Facebook page and so on. <a href="http://ameliatorode.typepad.com/life_moves_pretty_fast/2009/02/compare-the-market-meerkat-when-social-media-takes-off.html">See for yourself</a>.</p>
<p>More recently, though, Peter Horrocks, the Director of the Global News at the BBC has been forced to apologise after publicly confirming the recruitment of a number of new section heads to a colleague on Twitter. “Nothing too contentious in that”, I hear you say.
